Permanent Residency

Canadian Landed Immigrant status requires a person to live in Canada for a certain number of years and obtain a Canadian Permanent Resident Card. Permanent residents cannot vote or run for political office. As a permanent resident, you must pay taxes and respect all Canadian laws at the federal, provincial, and municipal levels.
